Melissa Gail Klein drops powerful new record "Crystalline Charm"

There is SO much good stuff to say about this album, and this artist Melissa Gail Klein

The first track "Did I Wish" lets us get to know a little bit about the range of Melissa's earthy voice.

Track 2, "Riverside" is a track about coming together, and I imagine riding down highway 1 (the beach) blasting this track.

Next up is called "The Same" and we get to hear Melissa play the banjo with great ability. The textural soundscape is rife with ear-candy.   The production on this album is impeccable.

"Just put on your make-up and fall back in line..."

is one of the many lines in this track that expresses the drone of social hypnosis.

Notice the amazing guitar solo at the end, intertwining with psychedelic violin.

Track 4, "Lapis" is a perfect interlude with wooden flute and evocative instrumetns.

Track 5 is the title track, "Crystalline Charm".  This song is really soothing and conjures up images of perseverance.  It is reminiscent of all timeless songs.

"Do your best and surrender to love," is my favorite lyric from this song.

Moving on to song 6 ("Carry You") we get to hear the poignant banjo accompanying Melissa's soothing voice.  The chorus brings to mind the image of thousands of concert-goers waving their lighters in the air.

"Dungeon" (track 7) is a banjo rocker, which I am personally excited about because I love to rock out with the banjo.  We really get to hear the influence of rock and roll in Klein's life.

My favorite track on the album is number 8, and it is called "Hey White Moon".  It has a cinematic feel to it, and really brings out a feeling of calm.

"Citrine" is track 9 and it begins with an ethereal flute dance, but it seems to really lead us into track 10 which is called "Back to the Center".

The fiddle gets a great highlight in the 11th song, "Wash My Wings". The interplay of Klein's soaring voice along with fiddle and banjo creates for an alchemy of peace.

The final track on the album is called "Rain Song" and it seems to call to mind a rainy landscape.  I see myself above the city, somewhere high in the mountains... maybe Nepal...fog...rain... but mostly the soothing sound of Melissa Gail Klein's healing voice.
