 Virginia Sweet just dropped their debut album "The Revival" and it has all the hallmarks of a good record. The title track of the same name is reminiscent of Alice In Chains with a modern production twist. The guitar playing soars along with the vocals, and during the big guitar solo, the band swells together to create a truly immersive listening experience. Melissa Gail Klein drops powerful new record "Crystalline Charm" There is SO much good stuff to say about this album, and this artist Melissa Gail Klein  The first track "Did I Wish" lets us get to know a little bit about the range of Melissa's earthy voice.   Track 2, "Riverside" is a track about coming together, and I imagine riding down highway 1 (the beach) blasting this track.  Next up is called "The Same" and we get to hear Melissa play the banjo with great ability. The textural soundscape is rife with ear-candy.   The production on this album is impeccable.  "Just put on your make-up and fall back in line..." is one of the many lines in this track that expresses the drone of social hypnosis.   Notice the amazing guitar solo at the end, intertwining with psychedelic violin.  Track 4, "Lapis" is a perfect interlude with wooden flute and evocative instrumetns. Track 5 is the title track, "Crystalline Charm".

John Amadon drops his lockdown masterpiece!  LISTEN FREE  HERE:   His fifth album,  Monarchs of the Spukhaus  finds Reno, NV-based pop songsmith John Amadon following up his critically-acclaimed releases, including 2011’s   Seven Stars  and 2013’s  The Bursting Sheaf,  with another collection of haunting melodies that make good bedfellows with easy-laid beats.    Set for a June 12th release, the album enchants you into Amadon's world of pop craft know-how. A multi-instrumentalist,  Monarch s of the Spukhaus  was recorded during lockdown, with minimal participation from others.  However, longtime collaborators from  Seven Stars  and  The Bursting Sheaf , Scott McPherson (live and session drummer for acts including Beck, Elliott Smith, Neil Finn, M.Ward, She & Him, Bright Eyes,  et.al ) and William Slater, as well as Paul Brainard (Richmond Fontaine), help bring the album to life.  While still in the vein of his previous collection of pop-rock offerings,  Monarchs of the Spukhaus

 LA Bluegrass/Old-Time band Smoke Holler smokes us hollow LA is proving to be a hot-bed of traditional music.  Illustrated by Smoke Holler and their powerful brand of Old-Time music.  Pictured below they are on a bridge in Zion, Utah.  They recently played at legendary local restaurant of Springdale area of Utah, The Bit and Spur.
